The morning after pill or Emergency Contraceptive Pill (ECP) is available for women without appointment if you think you are at risk of pregnancy within 72 hours of intercourse. If you are unsure please drop in and see us.

Please note you do not have to be above 16 years of age in order to obtain the ECP, however the pharmacist. must be sure you are able to give informed consent and understand the information and advice we give you.

We must supply directly to the woman  concerned as we need to carry out a consultation which involves a review of your relevant medical history and an assessment of your body mass index.

Your Body mass index (BMI) is important as a high BMI may reduce the effectiveness of the morning after pill or make it ineffective.

No appointment necessary but consultation with a pharmacist is required. Our DHB funds our ECP for under 25 year olds. So it's Free for New Zealand residents under 25 or a cost of $35 for all other women,  after consultation, if deemed appropriate.
